Part of the Family owned Eastern Western Motor Group, Mercedes-Benz of Edinburgh & Coldstream are the Mercedes-Benz Retailer for Edinburgh and the Borders with sites at the Luxury Car Village, Newbridge, Fort Kinnaird in East Edinburgh and Coldstream in the Scottish Borders. With a total staff of more than 250 people, we sell a large number of New and Approved Used Mercedes-Benz and Smart cars. We have more than 35 service bays and carry a substantial stock of Mercedes-Benz Parts across all three locations. We have been awarded the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year title in 2014 and 2018, together with the Customer Service Team of the Year title for 2017 and Workshop Team of the Year in 2019. The role of Marketing Manager for our Business is one which is rarely available and makes this a great opportunity for the successful candidate. You will be joining a team of people across the business focused on delivering great customer service whilst representing the best known automotive brand in the World!

Nature of the role

In 2022, the Mercedes-Benz range is focused on the all-electric EQ range of cars plus a wider range of Plug-In Hybrid models, with several new models due to arrive over the next 12 months and beyond. Our Business also continues to enjoy high demand for Approved Used Cars, Servicing & Repair work and Parts from our customers both locally and from across the UK. The role of Marketing Manager is a key one within our Management team and covers a wide variety of business areas and communication channels. Whilst you will be based at our main site in the Luxury Car Village, Newbridge, you will have an overview of the whole Business including the other locations and will be engaged and visit them on a regular basis too. You will also have a close working relationship with our Eastern Western Group Head Office Marketing team on many aspects of the role and utilise the support available. This role can offer ‘hybrid’ working, with a mix of on-site and home working, which can be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. The role offers the chance to innovate and develop new ideas, helping to ensure we keep our communications relevant and current in an ever changing environment. What does the job entail?

  • Social Media Channel management – monitoring and content curation of our various channels with the objective of maintaining and building our presence
  • Coordination of digital paid advertising (PPC) with our Head Office team
  • Control of our email marketing strategy including content design, segmentation, targeting and results achieved
  • Working with our Head of Retail Sales tailor customer offers and subsequent promotional activities
  • Assist with campaigns and promotions for the Corporate Sales team including B2B and B2C communications.
  • Working with Used car team to help optimise used car sales channels and online sales activities
  • Working with our Aftersales Director on marketing activity planning, strategy and implementation
  • To manage any customer feedback and concerns positively and professionally, documenting these clearly.
  • Point of Sale design and implementation as per Mercedes-Benz and/or showroom requirements
  • Customer Event Planning and management – including off site events when planned
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key Marketing stakeholders at Mercedes-Benz UK and other agencies

 Who are we looking for?

  • You will currently be working in a similar Marketing role or have a recent Marketing degree qualification - Motor Industry or Automotive experience is not essential
  • You will be able to demonstrate good IT skills with the ability to understand and operate new systems quickly
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have good interpersonal skills and work within our team
  • Be someone who is results orientated and can evaluate the success of a particular activity clearly and realistically
  • Have Financial awareness and budget activities accordingly
  • Have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload
  • An occasional weekend or out of hours working may be required in line with business related events
